Hypermiling

Imagine a running LCD display on your car’s dashboard the reads out your fuel consumption. No, not a gas gauge: it’s a real-time clock that watches your fuel efficiency. Thanks to an article on Kottke.org, I’m planning on becoming obsessed with how my various driving tics and tactics influence how many kilometres per litre I get.
How much is your blog worth?
Source: Spotted by the eyes of Daniel Rodrigquez at yeahboone
Webmasters are a ridiculous breed. We’re constantly checking our stats, moderating our comments, refreshing AdSense and Analytics reports and reviewing our Technorati ranking. Now, there’s a new stat to waste your time checking: how much is your blog worth? Find out using Dane Carlson’s little blog value applet.
More free coffee at Starbucks

If you haven’t already exploited the free Starbucks coffee tactic I posted about earlier, then make sure you take advantage of this one. Next Thursday, March 15th, the ‘Buck is handing out free Tall cups of joe to any John & Jane Doe with a jones for some java. Read more about it at Slashfood, or find it from fresh the Barista’s mouth at the Sbux official blog.
Why doesn’t anybody know about Calgary 2.0?
Source: Mark Sergienko’s home-made blog
Elbowroom Design has recently been collaborating with genius web developer Mark Sergienko on a top-secret underground project. One of Mark’s previous projects (not the one we’re currently working on) is called Calgary 2.0, and it’s one of the most amazing one-man Web 2.0 creations that I’ve ever encountered. It’s a grassroots effort to bring the Calgary community online via some brilliant social networking technology. Mark had the help of only a few other people, and has crafted a slick site that lets Calgarians find businesses, events, venues, people, communities and conversation, all within a stylish and completely user-friendly interface. While it’s currently badly underpopulated, if you tell your Calgary-based friends about this, it shouldn’t stay that way for long. Say g’bye to MySpace, it’s Calgary 2.0.
Smarten up your WordPress admin panel
Source: Steve Smith, resident genius at Ordered List
If you use WordPress to power your website, you’ve probably noticed that the design of the back-end interface kinda suffers from major blandness. That’s where this plug-in by Steve Smith comes in: it’s called WP Tiger Administration, and after a super-easy installation, your entire WordPress admin station actually starts looking good (and behaving even better). Since I installed this yesterday, it feels like I just bought a brand new website, and I’m pretty much in love with it. Swing by Ordered List to see screenshots and download the plug-in for yourself.
