Hi, i'm a professional dancer. i need to make a showreel regarding my promotions. I also desire to use some animation. Can someone suggest me a fantastic animation studio, but definitely not very expensive? I'm here for 3 months for a tour.
Love

Would you believe I was actually looking for penguins vs lemurs?

A few things you might want to take into consideration: besides the "group size" factor (which somebody else has pointed out), there's also the environmental factor here--that is, although the lemurs apparently are free to run throughout the whole zoo, the battle itself as presented in this paper takes place exclusively on the penguins' turf. (And, presumably, the lemurs would be rather cold there, too.) I don't know how you could get around that, unless perhaps by putting a tree in the penguin compound? (Hey, as long as this is a hypothetical situation.)

And the second important point is the sex differences in lemur fighting: as far as I know, scent glands are weapons excusively used by male lemurs against other male lemurs (and so I don't know that they'd attempt to use it at all against another species), and females are the primary "real" fighters. So if it's a male lemur that's instigating the fight, he MIGHT use scent--although that'd be unlikely--but if it's a female lemur, she wouldn't. Since your lemur apparently has a sex change mid-paper, I'm not sure which you were shooting for.

Otherwise a good analysis. Based on your description of penguin combat abilities, I'd say that they'd still take the lemurs in a hand-to-hand fight. (Er, flipper-to-claw fight?)

*taking this way too seriously*

My spouse and i agree with all your conclusions and will certainly excitedly look ahead to all your forthcoming updates. Say kudos will not likely be sufficient, for that great readability with your ideas. For certain i will straight away snatch your feed to stay informed over any messages.
Thanks, Dan. The researcher's penguin encounter was a delight to stumble across in my reading, and I really had not choice but to include it. :)

Oh man, this rules. I love the academic style. I'm not at all surprised someone wanted to use it in a writing course. My favorite bit has to be the researcher describing being beaten up by a penguin... followed by an accurate citation. ^_^

Thanks for the note, Mike. Actually, the five-inch fangs of the fabled Fiola Beliacosia genus of lemur were the cause of their disqualification from this competition. After many years of heated scientific debate, it was discovered that the "fangs" on this "lemur" were actually just fake shark teeth transplanted onto the jaws of a domestic housecat. The "dragoon-like jump" was a matter of forgery as well, achieved by flinging this outfitted kitty out of Madagascar treetops and photographing it in mid-descent.

This is bullshit. You need to do your homework. Aside from the agility and semi-prehensile hands and feet (flippers? Pf!), Lemur catta have very long, sharp fangs and a dragoon-like jump attack that is quite deadly. They jump in the air, using their formidable back legs, and come down fang-first. Alison Jolly also observed that Ringtailed lemurs have an almost Wolverine-line healing ability and are, in her words, "tough as an old boot." You'd have to be, if your native habitat was the spiny desert of southern Madagascar.

I'm not sure how constructive that little observation is...shall I respond with "Ouch! I totally got served?"

I mean, I guess I could change the title of the essay to "Who Would Win In A Hypothetical Fight Between Groups of Lemurs and Penguins In A Fictional Zoo Break," just to make sure there's no more confusion. What do you think?

The premise states "a penguin" and "a lemur" thus the multiple penguin scenario is invalidated.

First, excellent work.

Second, just a little helper: there were a couple of minor typos, but the most glaring is the gender inconsistency here:

"Back to our ring-tailed lemur trying to get to her apple core. He pads across the man-made ice floe...".

The beginning of the second sentence should be "She" :)

Again, great job!

(Feel free not to publish this post--I'm just trying to help you out, but the whole Internet doesn't need to know :))
